Austin City Limits Gains Thousands of Followers and Friends Within a Few Days

In my previous posts, I spoke of how well Austin City Limits utilized social media outlets to gain a huge following. Sustainability is also a goal of Austin City Limits, and they constantly update their twitter and facebook to keep people in the loop about what new things they have going on.

Recently, Austin City Limits gained thousands of followers and fans. All those people who refused to follow or become a fan of Austin City Limits succumb to the pressure because of the amazing deal. The very popular music festival was selling 3-day passes for next year's festival for only $50! The usual price is at $185, and people usually end up paying $300 once all the passes are sold out. It was such a ridiculous good deal that people were salivating for these passes. The catch was that they were not going to tell anyone when they were going to sell these lucrative passes. They encouraged everyone who was interested to follow them on twitter and facebook to find out exactly when these passes would go on sale. Austin City Limits promised within the next few days the passes would be put on sale.

The response to such a great deal was overwhelming. People were literally on their twitter accounts every second of each of those days to be able to know exactly when the passes were on sale. Every time I try to load their facebook page, it would take for ages because thousands of other people were doing the same thing. The public relations team for Austin City Limits was able to use this incredible deal as a great promoting tool for all their social media outlets. Even though people were not able to get this great deal, they are now hooked to Austin City Limit's social media outlets in hopes that a similar deal will be presented in the future, and they will be the first to know.

I unfortunately did not get a treasured $50 pass, but I will continue to follow them because I know they will do something similar in the future.
