Myspace is leading the social network music scene with now so many great perks that Facebook cannot rival.
Two weeks ago Weezer held a free secret concert for all their Myspace fans. I think this is an amazing way for Myspace to compete with other social media sites. The secret show was in San Franscisco and about a thousand devoted Weezer fans on Myspace were there.
Myspace's role in social networking has been eclipsed by Facebook and Twitter, but it's role in the music scene is very adamant. Another addition Myspace music has is the video streaming capablities. People will be able to watch streaming video through the partnership of iLike and Myspace, and not have to wait ten minutes for a YouTube video to load all the way to watch it.
Do you think Myspace will prevail as social media for music? Or do you think that Facebook will relsease an application where you can listen to full songs and thus run Myspace out of business?
I think Myspace has a monopoly on the music scene, but other big social media realms will catch up and rival Myspace. To know who will win, no one knows, but for now Myspace is the place to get the greatest music perks.
